Digital Technologies Guidelines

Industry/tertiary involvement

Key purpose

To foster relationships with industry and tertiary representatives who could provide support for schools in the implementation and development of the DTG.

Possible support

The type of support envisaged includes:

  • content support for teachers
  • resource support for teachers and students (such as the creation of briefs for students to work to; development of career pathways material; development of materials outlining technological practice; videos that could be used to show work within a classroom environment; student mentoring)
  • facilitation of workshops for teachers and/or students
  • development of activities for teachers and students to engage in (such as competitions, online games, discussions, industry hot seats …)
  • development of virtual tours of workplaces and discussion of the types of jobs and activities they involve
  • infrastructural support.

Regional interest groups (RIG)

As part of the long-term sustainability of the project, it is important that schools, tertiary, and industry interests have ongoing forums for collaboration. Regional interest groups (RIG) will be formed within each area and involve representatives of all areas. Initially, these will be facilitated and supported by the DTG project team. Schools will be able to request support from the RIG through the professional leader in their cluster group.

If you are interested in being involved in a regional interest group, please contact:
