Kia ora and welcome to the Digital Technologies Guidelines website.

Digital technologies impact on every aspect of our lives and are vitally important to New Zealand’s growth in the 21st century. Students in New Zealand need opportunities to develop knowledge and skills with digital technologies so they are equipped to respond to rapid changes in our society.

The Ministry of Education and Cognition Education, supported by the NZICT Group, would like to announce the 2010 Digital Technologies Professional Learning Symposium , 17th- 19th November, Auckland

This symposium is to provide an opportunity to support professional learning for teachers in digital technologies through collaboration with the industry and tertiary (and education) sectors in this space.

A key focus will be preparing teachers for the introduction of the new Digital Technology strands and assessments for Year 11 in 2011.

There will be a variety of workshops, hands-on sessions, panel discussions and inspirational plenary speakers to motivate and inspire you to support the integrity of the New Zealand curriculum, link with industry trends and career pathways, and create meaningful and interesting courses for students.
